Fr. Gawain (Gá wɪn di Lé u) arrived at Holy Trinity in September 2021 after serving 22 years in parishes in White Plains, NY. He was raised in Rochester, NY and was graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in Philosophy. He received his M.Div. from the University of Chicago and D. Min. from Seabury, an Episcopal seminary.
His academic interests include mimetic theory, institutional economics, and American Religious History. His book The Body of Christ in a Market Economy was published in 2019. He was ordained in 1996.
As a religious in the Order of the Ascension, his mission is to help build healthy and responsive communities through a commitment to hospitality and healing.
